Dr Kevin Yurkish DC MS

Chiropractic Physician

Dr Kevin Yurkish is a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician in Portland, Oregon. He believes in a simple formula to sustain a healthy life and he is excited to help you feel your best.

His approach empowers your step-by-step improvement and he will work with you to develop a tailored treatment plan to help overcome injury or illness and reach your goals. He uses a unique blend of manual therapy, traditional chiropractic, pilates and strength based rehabilitation along with guided nutritional support to help you bloom into your full potential.

He has had the pleasure of working with professional and olympic athletes throughout his tenure, and served as the athletic therapist for the University of Alberta Men’s Soccer Team prior to beginning his practice. His personal sporting endeavors in volleyball, rugby and hockey led him to this career but his passion is in helping people, whether you’re an athlete or not.  Dr. Yurkish is a queer immigrant dedicated to creating a safe space for every human, especially the QBIPOC community.

His education began in Edmonton at the University of Alberta, where he received his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, graduating on the Dean’s List. He then moved to Portland, graduating with a Master’s of Science in Sports Medicine and Doctorate in Chiropractic at University of Western States, finishing at the top of his class. He is now an adjunct faculty member at the University of Western States, where he teaches as a clinical preceptor to chiropractic students.

His zeal is using Food as Medicine, and he instills these natural health principles as a core component of his clinical care. He partners with personal trainers, dietitians, physical therapists, medical and naturopathic providers to appropriately direct the care of his patients. He also serves on the Board for the New Grocery Movement, aiming to restructure the food system.

Outside of the clinic he likes making salads from his garden, going paddle-boarding on the river or grabbing a slice of organic sourdough pizza at his husband’s restaurant, Pizza Thief
